students during each year. We are looking for enthusiastic and student center employees
who are motivated and adaptable. We offer positions for both Undergraduate and Graduate
Students that are paid hourly and come with additional employment benefits.

Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessional staff members for the Department of
Residence Life. An RA is the closest and the most vital link with the residents of
the buildings, who serves as a liaison between the Department of Residence Life and
the students. The Resident Assistants serve under the supervision of the Residence
Life Coordinator (RLC) of their assigned community. The RA position is one that requires
organization, flexibility, adaptability, enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment, as
well as building a strong sense of community. The basic task of the RA position involves
community building, serving as a resource for the residents, working as a team, working
the front desk, and serving on call. Additional responsibilities are provided in the
RA conditions of employment, RA training manual, and expectations set by your residential
area, and individual supervisors.

Student Assistants (SAs) are a vital part of the Department of Residence Life. Student
Assistants may work during and outside of normal business hours. This position will
assist the Residence Life professional staff at the different office locations (Clearview
Hall, Courtyard, and RiverPark), as well as students and their parents. SAs serves
as a liaison between the Department of Residence Life and the students. SAs will directly
report to the Residence Life Coordinator and the Graduate Assistant of their assigned
community.

The Department of Residence Life offers two Graduate Assistantship positions: The
Assistant Community Coordinator and the Graduate Assistant for Student Conduct. Both
positions are an integral component in the success of both the department and the
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students:
Assistant Community Coordinator
This position is an integral component in the success of both the department and the
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students. This position is a 10-month or 12- month assistantship
and will report to the Residence Life Coordinator for the assigned area. The ACC is
responsible for helping fulfill the Department of Residence Life’s mission to create
a safe and secure living environment that promotes the social and personal development
of our students.

Graduate Assistant for Student Conduct
This position provides case management and direct contact with Residential Life students.
The nature of this position will focus on investigating and addressing alleged violations
of the Student Code of Conduct. This individual will be responsible for several on-going
and short-term projects that advance the vision of the department and university.
They will promote community responsibility in the halls and on campus, while ensuring
that any violations that do occur are appropriately sanctioned.

During the summer the Department of Residence Life offers several employment opportunities
for students either staying on campus or in the Columbus area. We are looking for
students to fill our Summer Student Assistant and Summer Conference Assistant position
on both the Main Campus and RiverPark Campuses. These positions are very limited and
will be communicated to all residents who are staying on campus once the positions
are posted to the Human Resources webpage during the Spring semester.
