Biography
Aaron J. Crosby is a theatrical designer and educator with an extensive background in lighting and audio technology. Aaron received his Bachelor of Arts in both Theatre and Media Production from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN and his Master of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design and Production from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He has worked in academic and professional venues from intimate black-box theatres to large-scale spectaculars seating over 2000 audience members. A few notable companies with which Aaron has collaborated include: The Children’s Theatre Company of Minneapolis, Theatre for the Thirsty, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Company, Servant Stage Company, the Pullo Center for the Performing Arts, and Sight & Sound Theatres.
Before joining the faculty at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, Aaron served as a Resident Lighting Designer at Sight & Sound Theatres creating original designs for world premier productions and updating designs for shows returning to the stage. His designs helped create spectacular and immersive productions on a 300’-wide stage wrapping ¾ of the way around a 2000 seat audience. Aaron also worked to alter his designs to be captured both cinematically and for live-streaming events broadcast world-wide.
Beyond his work at Sight & Sound Theatres Aaron has served as a Lighting Designer, Master Electrician, Audio Engineer, Scenic Designer, and General Stage Technician for a wide variety of live entertainment events including: Concerts, Dance Recitals, Television Commercials, and Theatrical Productions. A selection of his technical proficiencies include: ETC EOS Family Console Programming, ETC Paradigm Programming, QLab Audio and Projection Playback Programming, Live Entertainment Networking, Audio and Lighting Systems Design, and Live Audio Mixing. As a Lighting Designer, Aaron especially enjoys projects within a highly collaborative environment working to bring a production to life on stage in a fresh way that is aesthetically pleasing and awe-inspiring to the audience.
